Koch Family Childrens Museum Of Evansville

Exhibits

cMoe reopened in Fall 2006 in the renovated former Downtown Central Library building with 18,000 square feet of exhibits. It hosts four main galleries, plus a multimedia theater entitled the ’Freedom Gallery.‘ ’Work Smart‘ focuses on engineering skill development and the freedom to build and create. ’Live Big‘ provides inquiry into our bodies and promotes the freedom to make choices. ’Speak Loud‘ is the arts area, encouraging the freedom of self-expression. ’Quack Factory‘ contains serious water play and large-muscle activities as it promotes the freedom to explore.

  • Freedom Gallery is a multi-media space which includes a performance stage for storytellers, small musical groups and other performance artists. Shows and performers are listed on a sign outside the gallery.
  • In addition, we have number of exhibits and experiences throughout the museum including a playable laser harp near our gift shop, an historic dollhouse that was donated to us by a resident of Henderson, Ky., and a Mark Twain talking head that lets you play with words and sentences, and frequently spouts bits of wisdom from Mr. Twain.
  • Although it looks like there are no ’computers‘ in any of the exhibits, in fact there are actually 17 microprocessor controllers being used throughout the facility.
