Job Title: Floor Staff
Reports To: Director of Operations
Part-Time Position
Position Summary: Responsible for providing all guest services functions (ticket and merchandise sales, restocking, providing information to guests, assist with educational programs, etc.), group sales, membership solicitation and fulfillment for the Koch Family Childrens Museum of Evansville
Qualifications:
Must enjoy working with children and the public
High School education and 1-2 years related experience in retail, office duties, and/or supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
Strong time-management, motivational, and organizational skills
Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Explorer software knowledge helpful)
Valid Drivers License.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to execute walk up membership sales
Ability to handle cash quickly and accurately
Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work with minimum supervision
Ability to work with a wide range of people
Ability to be a team player
Ability to be creative, theatrical and to play!
ADA Requirements:
Must be able to view computer monitors, computer reports, instrument panels, project schedules, and for visual inspection of workspaces.
Must be able to communicate extensively via telephone, two-way radio, one-on-one conversations, and group meeting presentations.
Must be able to make use of computer keyboards, and other technical/mechanical equipment.
Requires the ability to climb stairs extensively throughout the day
Must be able to stoop and reach and sit or stand for long periods of time
Essential Duties:
Present information through speeches, presentations, educational programs and personal interaction to children, adults, and teachers.
Conduct established procedures for daily operations of the Museum, Gift Shop and Admissions. Including but not limited to: guest relations, cash handling, admission/group sales and retail sales.
Process admissions and retail sales using a computer and point of sale software.
Solicit Museum Membership sales. Utilize membership software for fulfillment.
Solve problems and provide excellent customer service.
Answer telephones and provide general Museum and community related information.
Additional related assignments as directed.
